Curriculum Vitae CV summary - JDR 071714.pdf (188557)
My areas of interest are infectious diseases of domestic animals, mainly those that are considered zoonotic or emerging. Accordingly, during the last 5 years our group has been working on forgotten and neglected transmissible diseases that affect more commonly to the most needed human populations. Those that live in the most precarious ways, less prepared to affront the consequences and diagnose such unexpected diseases and on top of that, live in the most distant zones.
The principal focuses of our interest have been: Leptopsirosis, Rickettsiosis and some other rodent-borne viruses, which repercussions have yet to be studied and characterized in our country. In the most recent years we have started to work on other tick, flea and louse-borne and water borne diseases, and we are continuously pursuing new partnerships to open our perspectives and possibilities on other regions of the country or in the neighbor countries and willing to learn from the expertise of other leaders in these topics and collaborate with them.
